DESCRIPTION:June 5\n8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (rain date June 12)\n(includes 30 minute lunch break – please bring your own lunch) \nIndependence Oaks County Park boat launch\nIndependence Township\, Oakland County MI\n9501 Sashabaw Rd\, Clarkston\, MI 48348 \nThis is an eight hour Level 1 kayak skills course that covers how to prepare for kayak trips\, involves demonstrating strokes and safety maneuvers including rescues. You can either take the class to learn or learn and be assessed at the end of the class. \nIn order to pass the assessment you need to demonstrate kayak rescue techniques which will involve getting wet. Please wear quick dry clothing\, ideally closed-toe water shoes and bring a change of clothes. \nThis class is a prerequisite to the Community Paddlesport Leader training which will be offered in July.
