Certified facilities are recognized as exemplary environmental stewards. Training and certification criteria address key topics, such as siting considerations, marina design and management, stormwater management, boat maintenance and repair, petroleum control, aquatic invasive species, sewage handling, waste containment, disposal and recycling, and laws and regulations.<\/p>\n<h2>Program Registration<\/h2>\n<p>By completing the pledge statement and registration form, you will be registered to participate in the Michigan Clean Marina Program. A program representative will contact you with information about the next steps in the certification process once payment has been processed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Michigan Marinas:<\/strong> For new certifications, the program registration fee is separate from the certification fee. For recertification, marinas only pay the recertification fee. MBIA schedules site visits and coordinates the certification of participants on behalf of the Michigan Clean Marina Program.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Certification Checklist: <\/strong>Operators should use the Certification Checklist to perform an initial self assessment. Note: The quide was specifically designed for marinas affiliated with Clean Marina certification programs. As such, we strongly encourage all Resource Guide participants to work through your state Clean Marina program representative to ensure that you are addressing the appropriate certification criteria. Training for marina operators is self-paced and focuses on practical\u00a0tips for marina management and environmental stewardship. A representative will contact you with information about access to the Classroom once payment has been processed.
