To date, more than 100 marinas have been awarded certification. Since the program began in 2005, more than 50 marinas have been recertified, showing continued commitment to keeping Michigan waters clean.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_cta _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Our boaters are glad to be at a marina that is certified as a Michigan Clean Marina. Certified Clean Marinas strive for continuous improvement in daily environmental stewardship practices. Benefits to becoming a certified Clean Marina:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Reducing insurance and waste disposal costs<\/li>\n<li>Reducing pollution and improving water quality<\/li>\n<li>Protecting fish and wildlife habitat<\/li>\n<li>Enhancing public image by promoting environmentally sound practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Online or In-Person Training<\/h2>\n<p>Marina owners and operators now have an open resource they can access 24\/7 to assist in the certification process: <a title=\"Clean Marina Resource Guide\" href=\"http:\/\/www.michiganseagrant.org\/clean-marina-classroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Clean Marina Resource Guide<\/a> (formerly the Clean Marina Classroom). This guide includes details on recommended and mandatory practices of the Clean Marina Program.
