Cindy Hudson

As Michigan Sea Grant’s Extension communications manager located at Michigan State University, Cindy Hudson works to amplify the efforts of Michigan Sea Grant Extension educators and help them promote their work, events, and activities. She also assists with impact reporting, editing news articles, writing press releases, taking photos and videos, and managing social media.

Professional experience
Prior to joining Michigan Sea Grant in 2015, Cindy spent 26 years in the Lansing State Journal newsroom with increasing responsibility as an editorial assistant, copy editor, assistant news editor, and news and features editor. She was responsible for design, editing, and organization of the daily print newspaper. As features editor, she also contributed content by writing articles, taking photos and video, and maintaining website pages and social media presence.
