Michigan Sea Grant-funded research addresses issues that affect the Great Lakes ecosystem and Michigan’s coastal communities. This peer-reviwed research contributes to improved understanding that guides decisions affecting our Great Lakes. Michigan Sea Grant research projects bring together innovative teams from Michigan universities and often work with ongoing state and federal efforts to generate impactful research products. Our research program provides science-based information that is useful to decision makers, advances the state of Great Lakes knowledge, and is leveraged by a wide array of partners, including state and federal agencies, non-profits, educators, and other research institutions.
