Michigan is a glorious place for boaters. Rivers, more than 11,000 inland lakes, and the open waters of the Great Lakes make Michigan a boating paradise.

Boating is also serious business for Michigan. The industry has a significant and positive economic impact in the state, with nearly $4 billion in trips and boat spending and approximately 51,000 jobs supported.

Follow the links below for a variety of resources to help boaters and marina owners/operators keep our Great Lakes waters clean and safe. The Michigan Clean Marina Program, part of the Great Lakes Clean Marina Network, helps marinas choose products and practices that reduce damage to Great Lakes waters. The Sustainable Small Harbors projects equips coastal communities with the tools to assess and strengthen their waterfront assets.
