Brownfield Redevelopment Grants and Site Reclamation Program Grants
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: To investigate and remediate known sites of environmental contamination in preparation for economic redevelopment.
ELIGIBILITY: Any county, village, or other state or public body.
CRITERIA: The program must bring economic benefits to the community through job creation, private investment, and/or revenue for the community. Site must meet definition of a facility under part 201 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451.
FUNDING LEVEL: Up to $1m for brownfield redevelopment grants and $2m for site reclamation grants

Coastal Planning and Construction Grants
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: To assist in the protection, preservation, restoration, enhancement and to wisely develop the nation’s longest freshwater coastline, the Michigan Coastal Management (MCM) Program provides grant funds to promote vibrant and resilient coastal communities.
ELIGIBILITY: Coastal units of government, regional planning agencies, state agencies, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and tribal governments.
CRITERIA: Projects should further the Michigan Coastal Zone Management program, degree of public benefit, project readiness, and the likelihood that the project could proceed in the absence of
FUNDING LEVEL: Coastal Zone Management funding. Planning Grants range from $10,000 to $75,000; Low-Cost Construction Grants range from $10,000 to $200,000. A one-to-one non-federal match is required.

Substantial Public Health Risk Project Grants
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: For projects to address a substantial public health risk from treatment system failure.
ELIGIBILITY: Areas with direct and continuous discharge of raw sewage to surface waters.
CRITERIA: Areas with direct and continuous discharge of raw sewage to surface waters, and treatment system failures that have direct and continuous discharges of raw sewage that impact or have a potential for impacting a public drinking source. Must also have direct and continuous discharges of wastewater to surface waters or groundwaters of the state that create a substantial public health risk.
FUNDING LEVEL: Shall not exceed $2 million.
ANNUAL DEADLINE: Accepted continually until program funding is exhausted.

Source Water Protection Grants
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: To provide matching funds to public water supply systems for the development and implementation of a source water protection program to prevent drinking water sources from becoming contaminated.
ELIGIBILITY: Must demonstrate that funds cover grant assistance and local match, that there is a long term commitment to the program, and establish a local source water protection team.
CRITERIA: Community and not for profit non-transient non-community water systems, not federally owned, and the public system does not have outstanding fees.
FUNDING LEVEL: Around $500,000 is available total per year. 50% local match.

Affordability and Planning (AP) Grant
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: Provides funding to address water infrastructure needs across the state. To assist communities with addressing affordability and planning needs.
ELIGIBILITY: Any Michigan community water supply and local unit of government, including counties, townships, cities, villages, and others.
CRITERIA: Must include a project workplan, including project needs, what will be addressed and how, maps of project work areas, project cost detail with categories and amounts along with vendor estimates/quotes.
FUNDING LEVEL: Grants capped at $500,000 per water supply community, $2 million for partnered water supply communities.
ANNUAL DEADLINE: January 31

Community Pollution Prevention (P2) Grants
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: To fund P2 initiatives that foster partnerships and sustainability.
ELIGIBILITY: County governments, local health departments, school districts, and other public entities.
CRITERIA: The project must be focused on achieving measurable reductions in waste, have a local or regional focus, and result in long-term improvements or protection of the environment.
FUNDING LEVEL: $200k available, $100k max per application, state funds require at least a 25% match of cash or in-kind goods/services

Nonpoint Source Implementation RFP
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE: To implement priority recommendations in critical areas from approved watershed management plans.
ELIGIBILITY: Nonprofits that are tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, local units of government (such as state agencies; county, city, township, and village entities; regional planning agencies; Conservation Districts), and Michigan colleges and universities.
CRITERIA: Projects implementing priority recommendations to address nonpoint sources of pollution in critical or priority areas as designated in an approved watershed management plan.
FUNDING LEVEL: $3.3 million in state and federal funding is expected to be available, match of 25% is required
