The Michigan Clean Marina Program, managed by the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA) and Michigan Sea Grant, empowers marinas to maintain and improve Michigan’s waterways by reducing or eliminating releases of harmful substances and helping boaters prevent pollution.
By participating in this voluntary certification program, marina facilities are recognized as exemplary environmental stewards taking meaningful steps to address water quality challenges related to stormwater management, boat maintenance and repair, aquatic invasive species, sewage handling, and more.
In 2025, the program celebrated its 20th anniversary — read more about the impacts of this powerful collaboration.
