Training Researchers to Inform Policy workshop

November 7, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

""The Scholars Strategy Network Michigan Chapter is hosting a day-long workshop to equip researchers with the knowledge and skills they need to make research accessible and useful to policymakers and civic leaders.

Workshop participants will learn about where research is (and isn’t) used in the policy-making process, how to build relationships with policy-makers, how to create clear and compelling research-based policy recommendations, and how to work effectively with the media. After the interactive skill-building sessions, the day will conclude with a panel of legislators, policy makers, and media discussing their policy engagement. Participants will come away with new ideas for connecting their scholarship to policy-makers and strategies for implementing those new ideas.

There is no cost to participate, but pre-registration is required. Light breakfast, lunch and parking at the Kellogg Hotel parking ramp are included.
