Public events and train-the-trainer workshops
After taking the MI Paddle Stewards self-paced online course, participants are invited to join an optional in-person workshop in their community. These workshops are hosted by local groups, such as watershed councils, paddling clubs, and invasive species management organizations. Participants can meet local paddlers, put course principles into practice, and take home a MI Paddle Stewards goodie bag.
Michigan Sea Grant helps prepare local MI Paddle Stewards workshop hosts through “train-the-trainer” classes held around the state. Prospective hosts will receive guidance and resources to help make their future MI Paddle Stewards events a success. If you’re interested in a train-the-trainer event in your area, contact Erica at [email protected].
